More Than Just a Shop.
A Corpus Christi Tradition.
For 26 years, we've been the shop people call when the problem goes deep. Founded by Jerry Zamora in 2000, we never became a chain — we stayed one shop, on one corner, doing the work the right way.
26 Years at 1402 Agnes St
Zam Automotive opened its doors in the year 2000, founded by Jerry Zamora with a simple conviction: that honest, skilled auto repair still had a place in Corpus Christi. Twenty-six years later, we're still at 1402 Agnes St — the same address, the same commitment, and a reputation built one repair at a time.
For a customer standing in our lobby, those 26 years mean something concrete. It means the technician writing up your ticket has likely seen your problem before — maybe dozens of times. It means we've earned the trust of drivers across the Coastal Bend the hard way, by fixing cars correctly and standing behind the work. And it means that when other shops in town run into a transmission they can't rebuild or a diagnostic code they can't chase down, they send it to us.
We didn't grow into a chain. We stayed one shop, on one corner, doing the work the right way. That deliberate choice is why generations of Corpus Christi families still bring their vehicles here — and why a father showing his son how to turn a wrench is still a daily sight in our bays. Car culture runs deep in this part of Texas, and it runs even deeper in our shop. We believe auto repair is a craft, not a transaction, and every vehicle that rolls into our bay is treated accordingly.
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
Our technicians are the core of what we do, and we hold them to standards that go beyond the typical independent shop. We will not list a credential we haven't earned — the items below marked NEEDS CONFIRMATION will be updated with the exact certifications our team holds once you provide them.
ASE Certification
NEEDS CONFIRMATIONPlease confirm the specific ASE certifications our technicians currently hold (for example, A1 Engine Repair, A2 Automatic Transmission, A5 Brakes, A6 Electrical/Electronic Systems, A7 Heating & Air Conditioning, A8 Engine Performance). We will list only the credentials that are verified.
NAPA AutoCare Standards
NEEDS CONFIRMATIONPlease confirm the specific NAPA AutoCare technician training and quality standards our shop maintains as a member of the NAPA AutoCare network.
ADAS Calibration Training
NEEDS CONFIRMATIONPlease confirm the specific ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration training or certification our technicians have completed for camera, sensor, and radar recalibration.
Hunter Hawkeye Training
NEEDS CONFIRMATIONPlease confirm any Hunter Engineering alignment training or certification held by the technicians who operate our Hawkeye Elite rack.
Tools That Prove Capability
The equipment in our shop is proof of capability, not decoration. When you trust a shop with your vehicle, you're trusting their tools and their data as much as their hands. Here's what we work with.
Hunter Hawkeye Elite Alignment Rack
The industry-standard alignment system, using high-definition cameras to measure wheel angles to a fraction of a degree. We perform both 2-wheel and 4-wheel alignments on this rack, and every job comes with a before-and-after printout so you can see exactly what was adjusted.
BG Products
As a BG Products service partner, we use their chemistry for fluid services — including transmission flushes, oil services, and cooling system service. BG fluid services are backed by the Lifetime BG Protection Plan® when service intervals are maintained.
Mitchell 1 Labor Data
We use Mitchell 1 for accurate labor-time estimates and service information, so the quote you receive reflects real industry data — not a guess padded to inflate the bill.
Intoxalock Certification
We are a certified Intoxalock installer, handling ignition interlock device installation, monthly calibration, and removal in full compliance with state requirements.
Why a NAPA AutoCare Shop Is Different
There's a real difference between a NAPA AutoCare shop and an unaffiliated independent, and it comes down to accountability that follows you out of town.
When you have a qualifying repair done at Zam Automotive, it's backed by the NAPA AutoCare Peace of Mind® Warranty — 24 months or 24,000 miles on parts and labor. That warranty is honored at more than 17,000 NAPA AutoCare locations nationwide. So if a covered repair fails while you're driving through Houston, San Antonio, or anywhere across the country, you can take it to any participating NAPA AutoCare shop and the work is covered.
An unaffiliated independent can only guarantee their own work, at their own shop. If you move, travel, or simply can't make it back, that guarantee doesn't travel with you. The NAPA network does. That nationwide backing is one of the concrete reasons a NAPA AutoCare shop offers more than just a local repair — it offers peace of mind that goes wherever your vehicle goes.
"Quality is never an accident."
